The program reviews current state-of-the-art breast cancer management, highlighting the key components of multi-disciplinary treatment to include surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology. The format of this program consists of lectures and case studies.

The emergence of the new breast cancer mammographic detection modality of tomosynthesis will be assessed. Recent advances in surgery are discussed by faculty considered to be world leaders in surgical oncology. Topics such as targeted axillary dissection and de-escalation of axillary operations in the primary setting and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy will be highlighted. In addition, immunotherapy is becoming a more central theme as recognition of its role in suppressing tumor growth become more elucidated. This evolving topic will be featured this year and will dovetail into a discussion of HER 2+ cancers, which also have a relationship to the immune system.
